Our vessel at the time was in Lome Togo so the crew immediately sailed the 2 day 5-hour transit time to collect the cargo in Douala.
On arrival the crew acted quickly to load the client’s cargo which weighed a total of 9.3T, this was then safely stored on deck using securing equipment that had previously been procured for a similar task back in January. Once everything had been safely secured onboard and documentation received it was transported to Port Gentil.
Upon completion of delivering the cargo the whole task had only taken just 6 days to complete from the initial vessel mobilisation. Our team worked quickly and safely throughout the task allowing the goods to be transported on time without any incidents.
SVS Hawkins has now returned to her base port of Lome joining sister vessels SVS Avery and SVS Monck. The vessels are now undergoing a deep maintenance period after what has been a very busy few months at sea.
